Chris is a leading lobbying and public policy lawyer with nearly 20 years of experience on Capitol Hill, specializing in domestic and international climate, energy and environmental policies while representing clients before the U.S. federal government. He advocates on behalf of clients and advises them on navigating complex policy issues across various sectors, including energy and sustainability, telecommunications, transportation and international trade. Chris brings extensive subject matter knowledge of energy, climate and energy transition issues, and has been instrumental in creating the Partnership to Address Global Emissions, an industry coalition that includes the largest natural gas companies in North America, interfacing with the federal government on key industry matters.

Chris represents leading names, including technology start-ups paving the way for next-generation solutions, and provides counsel on federal policies impacting companies regarding consumer protection, supply chains, artificial intelligence (AI) and competition issues. Prior to joining Akin, Chris was a government relations director for a Washington, D.C. lobbying, public affairs and government relations firm, advising prominent NGOs and Fortune 50 companies on issues such as comprehensive climate change legislation. Additionally, Chris served on the professional staff for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he contributed to the passage of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, and he was also a law clerk for a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA).
