Stephen is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Webs Creek Capital, a Dallas-based energy focused investment firm. Prior to founding Webs Creek, Stephen was a Co-Founder, Partner and the Director of Research at Brenham Capital. A $1 billion plus fund, the firm’s long/short strategy invested exclusively in energy equities and returned over 70 percent, net of fees to early investors, significantly outperforming all industry benchmarks. Stephen’s primary responsibilities included idea generation, investment analysis, and portfolio management. In addition, he led the recruitment, development and management of the investment team.

Stephen began his career at Pritchard Capital Partners, an energy-focused investment bank. Initially in an analyst role, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and directly participated in the financing of the early cycle of U.S. onshore shale exploration. Stephen has forged relationships with founders, senior leaders and technical specialists at public and private companies across the energy complex. ese relationships have become essential to the qualitative aspects of Webs Creek’s investment process.

Stephen was raised in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in Political Science. He lives in Dallas with his wife Ellis and their three children. Stephen is a co-founder and Advisory Committee member of STREAM Foundation, a non-profit targeting the increase of asset management roles and senior management positions for underrepresented groups.
