Thaimar Ramirez is the President and General Manager of the Texas Midland Basin Business Unit within US Onshore and has been at Oxy since 2015. She has 20 years of experience and has held various roles at subsurface technology and business units at ConocoPhillips and Apache Corporation, prior to joining Oxy. Her current responsibilities include business unit profit and loss, strategy, transformation, integration, succession planning, and enabling her team to create business opportunities while conducting safe operations that lead to net zero.
She and her team were awarded the 2017 Oxy Chairman Global Innovation Award and the Oxy President’s Award. In 2020, she was bestowed with the Distinguished Service Award, Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA). In 2021, she was honored with a GRIT award in the Individual category. She is the executive sponsor of Oxy’s Neurodiversity ERG, a mentor, and an advocate for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira in Venezuela, a MSE in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA with academic honors, both from the University of Texas at Austin. She enjoys traveling, reading, helping people and animals, and practicing mindfulness.
