John Fossum is a managing director in Petrie Partner’s Denver office. John focuses on strategic advisory, M&A and raising capital for public and private companies across the energy value chain. He joined Petrie in 2017 from the Energy & Minerals Group in Houston, where John was a Vice President focused on equity investments in the exploration and production and midstream sectors. Prior to the Energy & Minerals Group, John held various roles of increasing responsibility with TPG Capital and First Reserve Corp. where he was a member of each firm’s North American focused energy investment team.

John began his career at Petrie Parkman & Co. in 2006 in the firm’s Houston office and later joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch as part of Merrill Lynch’s acquisition of Petrie Parkman & Co. He earned his B.A. in Economics from Rice University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
