Mr. McDavid serves as the EVP of Corporate Development for Sitio Royalties. As a member of Sitio’s executive leadership team, Mr. McDavid is involved in all aspects of the business with his focus being on acquisitions, corporate strategy and new venture opportunities. In 2003, Mr. McDavid began his career as a Petroleum Geologist for Stalker Energy, L.P., an independent oil and gas exploration and development company located in Austin, Texas. In 2013, he joined Brigham Minerals/Resources, where he progressed into various leadership positions, eventually becoming Senior Vice President of Exploration of Brigham Minerals. Mr. McDavid played a critical role in Brigham Minerals’ evolution from a privately funded startup to a successful publicly traded company with a market capitalization exceeding $1B. Mr. McDavid also played a key role in leading Brigham Minerals through a corporate merger with Sitio Royalties in 2022, creating a multi-billion dollar publicly traded oil and gas mineral and royalty company. Mr. McDavid earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology as well as a Master of Arts degree in Petroleum Geology from the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin. Mr. McDavid is an actively engaged alumnus of the Jackson School, currently serving as a member of the JGS Geology Foundation Advisory Council. Mr. McDavid is also an active member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists serving as a member of the AAPG Trustee Associates for the AAPG Foundation.
